Juan M. Sánchez received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain, in 2003, 2005, and 2008, respectively. He is currently an assistant professor with the Applied Physics Department at the Polytechnic School of Cuenca, and researcher with the Regional Development Institute in Albacete, both belonging to the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. His research interest focuses on the thermal infrared remote sensing in general and the surface-energy-flux retrieval in particular. He has published more than 30 papers in international journals, 5 book chapters and more than 70 conference papers. He has participated in 21 national and international projects, and he is referee in 17 international journals. In 2010 he was awarded the Norbert Gerbier-MUMM international prize by the World Meteorological Organization.
